Nominate a deserving locally-owned and operated business in one of the following categories.

Small Business of the Year
• Any for-profit business located in Lackawanna County
• The business must be financially stable and in operation for three years
• The business must have fewer than 250 employees and must be a member of The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce at the time of application

Young Entrepreneur of the Year
• The entrepreneur must be between the ages of 13 and 30 and reside or own a business in Lackawanna County
• The business must be in operation for at least three months
• The business must be for-profit with at least three clients

Childcare MicroGrant (five $500 grants will be awarded)
• The childcare provider must be located within MetroAction’s eight county service area
• The provider must be enrolled in the Keystone Stars Program
• The provider must be in good standing with the Department of Public Welfare, current on all taxes and not have any pending legal issues or complaints

Anyone may nominate a business. Self-nominations are also accepted.
You may nominate more than one business.

Small Business Spotlight

MetroAction, Inc, The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, and The Northeast Pennsylvania Business Journal are currently accepting applications for the Small Business Spotlight.

Sponsored by First Liberty Bank and Trust, the Small Business Spotlight is an award given 12 times each year to local businesses that show a dedication to making our community a better place to live and work. Winners will be recognized in MetroAction Inc.’s e-newsletter TakingAction, the Scranton Chamber of Commerce’s newsletter Newsbriefs and in the Northeast Pennsylvania Business Journal. Spotlight winners will also be featured at the Scranton Chamber’s Annual Small Business Awards Luncheon.

To be eligible, businesses must be members of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce. The business should have less than 100 employees and be in business for at least 6 months. The business can be located in Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming counties. The business must also demonstrate how they contribute or have contributed to the betterment of our community, and if they have received any special awards or certificates for their achievements
